WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK YOUR NEWBORN SESSION?

It’s never too early to book your newborn session! Because the calendar fills up quickly, it’s best to reserve your session as early as possible. Most clients typically book their newborn session during their 2nd trimester.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A NEWBORN SESSION?

Newborn sessions are scheduled between 8-14 days after the baby is born. This allows for baby to be sleepy and posable for the duration of the session. I can achieve these squishy poses with babies up to 21 days old.

HOW DO I BOOK A NEWBORN SESSION WHEN I DON’T KNOW WHEN THE BABY WILL ARRIVE?

When you book your session, I will put your due date on my calendar so that I can tentatively plan around it. If baby arrives early or late, there is always room to accommodate! Once the baby is born, I ask that you let me know as soon as possible so that we can plan a definitive date and time for the session.

HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?

Newborn sessions often run 2-3 due to the nature and frequent soothing of the baby into each pose for the Luxe and Grand Sessions. I like to get fingers uncurled for a relaxed, sleeping pose. No tight fists here.  Expect a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 3 hours in the studio for the normal newborn session. I do not rush the session and allow for the baby to take as many breaks as needed. The baby’s comfort and safety is my priority.

WHERE DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?

Newborn photography sessions are done at my home studio in Wheaton, IL.

DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO THE SESSION?

I provide everything for your session! All you have to do is show up!  I have lots of bonnets, headbands, outfits and props! I individually style each session and will have you fill out a survey ahead of time. This survey is a great way for me to get your style & taste to integrate it into the session.

WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME FOR YOUR PORTRAITS?

My current turnaround time is 3 weeks. If you’d like a few photos for announcements, please let me know and I can accommodate that! I also offer custom designed birth announcements at a VERY low price.
